Important Announcement

F A Q for New Service Times

Take a moment to look over the questions and answers regarding the new service times.

  • In 2024 we moved to three services with 15 minutes in-between services instead of 30 minutes. Over the last year, we have realized how this change was limiting what we were able to do within our worship services. Additionally, we have heard from our church family of issues they are having in the tighter transition between the services, connect groups, kids check-in/drop off, and the parking lot in that time frame.

  • We will continue our current times (9:00, 10:15, and 11:30) until Easter. As we did last year, we will have all three services on Easter Sunday and use the Youth Center as a video venue at 9:00 and 10:15. We will start the new times, 9:30 and 11:00 on April 27th.

  • Over the past several months we discussed possible solutions for the issues with our current service times, including shifting times to allow for 3 services with more time in between. However, after considering many options, we believe moving the first service earlier would move more people to our most crowded service at 10:15. For now, we believe two services with two venues and 30 minutes between services will address our needs best for saturating our current facility.

  • We are thankful for the recent parking expansion that has allowed breathing room in our parking. The vast majority of our people are already here at 9:00 or 10:15. As we have need, we will further utilize parking at the shopping center and lower parking lots for our staff and leaders. We will continue to use golf carts on Sunday mornings.

  • The video venue will be led each week by one of our pastors, a live worship team, and will only use video for the sermon. We are asking 75-100 people to commit to being a part of the video venue for several months as it launches. This will help make space for growth in the Worship Center and Youth Center.

  • As we begin 2025, we have regularly seen 950-1020 people on campus on Sunday mornings. The two venues will allow space for up to 1,600.

  • Yes, we would encourage you to continue inviting people to Peninsula. These changes will allow for growth, up to 1,600 people in the services between both venues.

  • Our plan is for the groups currently meeting at 9:00 to move to 9:30 and the groups currently meeting at 10:15 will meet at 11:00.

  • The Youth will meet in an updated Loft space upstairs, where the 4th and 5th Grade currently meet. We are updating the walls and look of all of our preschool and elementary spaces. The upstairs area will see an update as well, making it a great space for our youth on Sunday mornings. Our elementary ministry will make adjustments to their programming for kindergarten through 5th Grade students to be on the main floor.

  • The Youth will continue using the Youth Center and classrooms for their time on Sunday night.

  • Yes. We are updating the Loft, including removing a wall, to allow for a larger meeting area. This change will allow for adequate space for the Youth on Sunday mornings (at 9:30 and 11:00) and provide room for growth.

  • For more than a year we have been strategically planning for the expansion of our facilities. Currently, we are in the phase of saturating our facilities while preparing for building.

  • The timeline for completing a new church building or expansion project can vary widely due to factors like project complexity, permitting, and funding. Typically, such projects take about two to three years. However, this is an estimate, and actual timelines may be affected by permit delays or fundraising challenges.

We are forming a Building Committee and currently have five members, with plans to add at least two more. We've started discussions with JH Batten, the design-build firm that built our Youth Center (completed in 2017), and Generis, a fundraising consulting firm, to help us raise the necessary funds.

Our vision includes expanding worship and children’s spaces and repurposing existing areas. After meeting with the design-build team this spring/summer, we aim to share conceptual drawings with our church family.
