Care Ministry

Care Ministry at Peninsula

At Peninsula, we believe it is our calling to help care for orphans in our community and the world. There is a place for every Peninsula family to actively care for orphans or to support adoptive and foster families. The mission is building Christian homes through the miracle of adoption and foster care by connecting children and adults to the love of Jesus Christ. At Peninsula, we believe it is our calling to help care for orphans in our community and the world. There is a place for every Peninsula family to actively care for orphans or to support adoptive and foster families.

Respite Care

Respite Care meets on Wednesdays from 11:30am-2:30pm.
This program is for any age person that lives with supervision. It's meant to be a weekly "respite" for caretakers while providing community and activities for participants. We provide lunch then participate in music, games, and crafts. Requirements for participating in Respite Care:
Participants can go to the restroom independently.
Participants have transportation to and from the church.
If you are interested in Respite Care, contact Elizabeth Ellis.

Orphan Care

The Way Home Ministry was founded on this verse:
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27.
We believe it is part of our calling to help care for orphans in our community and the world. Through local and global initiatives, there are multiple ways for every family to actively care for orphans or to support adoptive and foster families. Prayer and Counseling

Do you need prayer, want to know more about Jesus, need counseling, or financial assistance? We want to help if we can. We have a dedicated prayer team, a benevolence committee, and we partner with a licensed family counselor to provide counseling services. Reach out to us HERE.

You can reach our counseling partner directly at karyn@curtanaccc.org.

We also have a group of people dedicated to praying for the needs of our church family. Join our Prayer Team.

Heritage Builders

Teenagers living in foster care must overcome significant hurdles to age-out of the system well and become healthy, productive adults. How are these challenges overcome so that negative generational cycles - including high rates of unplanned pregnancies, incarcerations, and homelessness are broken?
The answer is through YOU - the church - sharing the gospel and providing practical support. Heritage Builders provides comprehensive training and tools for you to come alongside these vulnerable youth at such a critical life stage.

At Peninsula, we pair advocates with a teen and commit to meeting once a month (on a Monday night). We provide mentorship and biblically-based practical life skills.

Our 2026/2027 Schedule is as follows:
June 11 - Self Care
July 13 - Special Outing... a fishing trip
