Doing Life With Your Adult Children
This is a 7-week study from the book "Doing Life With Your Adult Children" by Jim Burns. It is geared toward parents with children in the 18-30ish age group.
Dates: Thursday Evenings - March 16 thru April 27
Time: 6:45-8:15 pm
Overview of Study: If you've raised a child, you know that parenting doesn't stop when they turn eighteen. In many ways, your relationship gets even more complicated--your heart and your head are as involved as ever, but you can feel things shifting, whether your child lives under your roof or rarely stays in contact. Doing Life with Your Adult Children helps you navigate this rich and challenging season of parenting. Speaking from his own personal and professional experience, Burns offers practical answers to the most common questions he's received over the years, including: My child's choices are breaking my heart--where did I go wrong? Is it OK to give advice to my grown child? What's the difference between enabling and helping? What boundaries should I have if my child moves back home? What do I do when my child doesn't seem to be maturing into adulthood? How do I relate to my grown child's significant other? What does it mean to have healthy financial boundaries? How can I support my grown children when I don't support their values?
Book is purchased at time of registration - $10 each

NEW TO PENINSULA?
Starting Point is an event to help you connect to life and mission at Peninsula. If you have been to Peninsula one week or a few years but have questions about how to get connected, this event is for you. This event will help you learn more about Connect Groups, serving, baptism, missions and more. Starting Point is also our process for becoming a member at Peninsula.
Young Adulthood Milestone Event
As you transition from living under the direction and guidance of your parents to life in the “real world”, we want to help you stay focused on a life in Christ. The time between the teen years and the parenting years is a prime opportunity to serve Christ in unique ways. As a young adult, Peninsula wants to help you abide in Christ through this stage of life, to serve Him in our church and community and prepare you for having your own family.
Join us Friday, March 31 at 6:30 pm. Dinner will be provided.
Register by Tuesday, March 28.
The Way Home Ministry
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27
At Peninsula, we believe it is our calling to help care for orphans in our community and the world. There is a place for every Peninsula family to actively care for orphans or to support adoptive and foster families.
If you have been a part of fostering or adoption OR have an interest in The Way Home Orphan Care Ministry in other ways, please CLICK HERE so we can connect with you.
