The Church in Antioch

Jul 13, 2025    Pastor Daniel Dye

In this powerful exploration of Acts 11:19-30, we're challenged to move from merely gathering to actively going. The early church in Antioch serves as our model, demonstrating how God uses suffering to strengthen His people, sending to encourage, synergy to build, and support to sustain. We're reminded that persecution doesn't paralyze God's plan - it propels it. Just as the scattered believers turned their hardships into opportunities for evangelism, we too can transform our trials into testimonies. The hand of the Lord was with them, and it can be with us as we step out in faith. This passage calls us to be more than passive observers; we're meant to be active participants in God's mission. Are we, like the Antioch church, becoming a hub for teaching, discipleship, and sending? Let's consider how we can encourage others in ministry, collaborate for greater impact, and support through sacrificial giving. Our gathering isn't an end in itself - it's preparation for going and spreading the gospel beyond our comfortable boundaries.
